Not today Galvatron! |
|
Transformers the Movie is a fantastic adventure cartoon film based on the original series. Although nearly 20 years old, it still enthralls audiences of my generation (im 21 and loved it when i was little) and children of today should reach for this way before watching the Tweenies or Bob. The film mainly focuses on new characters, such as Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus and Galvatron, not to co-incide with their action figure release or anything, but the oldies such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Jazz, Ironhide, Starscream and Soundwave are all present, although whether or not they survive the film youll just have to watch it. The film begins with a classic autobot v decpticon battle, followed by the two having to team against Unicron, a giant planet-eating robot that wants to destroy their home-planet of Cybertron. Action-packed and well worth buying, with a fantastic soundtrack and a great cast of voices, including Judd Nelson as Hot Rod, Leonard Nimoy as Mr Spock..no sorry Galvatron and Monty Pythons Eric Idle as the leader of the Junkbots Wreck-Gar (yes, Junkbots from the Planet of Junk). BUY IT!!!

Me Grimlock want to munch metal! |
This is quite simply the best animated movie ever made. It manages to appeal to both the adults of the Transformer generation and the kids of today (How they loved Grimlock, hehe). Transformers combines heavy action with some uncharacteristic themes for a childrens film (Characters actually DIE. Watch Primes death, its pretty deep for a kids film). The film is all the better for it, though. Just watch the cartoons kids have to put up with today - pokemon, etc. Crap. Buy TF:TM and show them what a REAL cartoon with a REAL story is like. If theyre not hooked on 80s synth/rock/heavy metal by the end of it, buy the soundtrack and they will be =)I cant praise this film enough. And now it can live forever on DVD! Now all we need is the episodes released in chronological order so we can force kids to watch them and make the world a better place. Look, just buy it, ok? And when youre done buy the toys. Now they were REAL toys back then. Why I remember.......

One shall Stand, One shall Fall! |
This movie is Fantastic! I am a lifelong Transformer Fan and I remember seeing the trailer for the film - The FINAL battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron was worth waiting for. This is the epic struggle between good and evil which has "raged for millions of years". Orson Wells puts in a terrific performance as the coldly evil Unicron and Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek is an excellent addition to the cast. My only complaint is that Rodinus Prime means nothing. Optimus meant first & greatest - surely Hasbro could have done better. Still his transform is good. Many people believe that the death of Optimus ruined the third series but I believe it forced the Autobots to stand on their own two feet. For all thouse die-hard purists out there do not worry. The Greatest Autobot of them all, Optimus Prime WILL return. A MUST BUY ITEM (Note:- U version suitable for everyone, PG version has one swear word in it - admittedly they are being swallowed by a giant planet at the time).
